mathurl allows you to send complex math expressions to people over email and IM, and embedded in webpages, without requiring any special software.
mathurl accepts standard LaTeX input with AMS extensions. Input is rendered as displayed math by default. To typeset your expression as inline math, add the command \inlinemode. To typeset text rather than equations, use \textmode.
Click “make mathurl” to generate a permanent mathurl. It will be shown in red, like http://mathurl.com/?5euwuy. This short link will now forever refer to your equation!
The red mathurl goes to a webpage on this site with your equation on it. To embed an equation in some other webpage, click once on the formatted equation, and use the address of the image that you get (e.g. http://mathurl.com/?img=5euwuy) as the value of the src= attribute of your img tag (e.g. <img src="http://mathurl.com/?img=5euwuy">).
Here's some examples to get you started! Click through to see how each of these is done.
